Im still around and reading. Thanks for the update on the china blade, Ray.
I got a wild hair and decided to shave completely as my wife if 25 years has never seen my chin. Lol
She said "Wow. Ok, now grow it back but make it short".

So no shaving for a few weeks for me. Thinking i will trim after 3 weeks and call it good. But for now, i will just keep following the thread. Still hoping for the Filoso blades to come back to Amazon so if anyone sees them back please let me know so i dont miss out.

I guess you wife does not like the looks of your bare mug.   Big Grin

The nice thing about bad haircuts and shaves is that they grow back so you can try again. It sounds like you wife might be into a Clint Eastwood kind of scruff. You might want to try one of the beard simulator apps so you can experiment with various types of beards and see which you  (and you wife) like best.

My Ebay seller is thinking about selling them again. I'll let you know if and when.

The only reason to purchase from Amazon is if you are a Prime member and can get free shipping.

There are a number of barber supply shops that carry the Filoso blades at $12-13 per 100.
I came across one that has the blades on sale for $9.99, but I do not know how long the sale will last.

The Merkur blade performed a little better in my Timeless TI 0.95 for my WTG and XTG passes. There was less blade feel than on the first shave, so I presume it was smoother. For the ATG and clean-up passes, I again used my Timeless TI 0.68 razor equipped with the Treet 7 Days Platinum. I got an excellent shave with almost no feedback from my witch hazel application after the shave. I am looking forward to the third shave with these blades.

Thursday shave-

I continued with the use of the Merkur blade in the Timeless TI 0.95 and the Treet 7 Days in the TI 0.68, with both now on their 3rd use. The Merkur blade still has more blade feel than I like in the 0.95 razor, but I accomplished the WTG and XTG passes without incident. The 7 Days blade continues to work well in the Ti 0.68. Once again I got an excellent shave....near-BBS and almost no feedback from the witch hazel. I plan to use the same combination on for Saturday's shave. After that I might try another blade in the TI 0.95. I suspect I can get quite a few more uses out of the 7 Days blade since it does not get nearly as much damage from the ATG and clean-up passes.

Amazon currently has the King C. Gillette blades (Chinese version, it seems) priced at $16.95 for 100.

Nice catch! I did not rate the Chinese version to be quite as smooth as the Russian version, but it appeared to be slightly sharper, so I guess that might be a tradeoff.

If the blades are not counterfeit, the price is a superb value. I will have to add some to my next Amazon order. My only issue with the King C Gillette blades was that they were only available in 10 blade tucks. Now that objection has been negated.

The 10 blade tuck was all I had ever seen until tonight myself. I went back to your spreadsheet to look at the rating and I wasn't sure how you would feel about the trade-off between the sharpness and the smoothness, but I figured it was worth posting here because it seems they are still good blades, and this is a fantastic value compared to what they typically cost. Funny thing is, I don't even think I was looking for them. I think I was looking for the Filoso blades. Either way, these popped up, and I did my due diligence and tried to read the ad as closely as possible and look at the pictures to determine the country of manufacture. In one of the pictures featured in a review, it shows the back of the box and it does state China. It works out to be considerably cheaper than the 10 blade tucks.

If it is any consolation, I placed an order with Amazon for Monday delivery. Now I just have to figure out which razor they will work best in. I suspect they will be ideal in my Timeless TI 0.68. Since it is a mild, smooth razor, it can take a super sharp blade.

The Black Ninjas are GREAT in a Yaqi Yile with Bulldog handle. Permasharps are good too. Looking forward to trying Bics, but my bunker of them is in a different country atm.

I had issues with non supersharp blades in that rig, but the supersharp ones sing. Fixed angle FTW.
