Hey Matt, that really is beautiful, tasteful, old world and charming !

Any idea how old it is, and who made it.

It's made by Sportsman.....from the 50's some time I'd imagine. Doing some searching online found the following information:

This from a Sportsman Mug on Ebay right now:

And this ad from a Life Magazine dated December 13, 1954:

Hey Matt, Not to detract from your beautiful Sportsman "Father" mug, I noticed while checking out these mugs on ebay, that among this series there's one called the "Fireman".
Thought you might be interested to know. Mind you at around a $100.00 you may not be too interested.

Awesome. I have a small collection of fireman mugs (4). None are the Sportsman brand, though.

Someone brought a "Fireman" shaving mug into work to use as a coffee mug. I'll have to see if it's a Sportsman, and also find out who brought it in....maybe they'd be interested in selling it to me or something....hmm. :hmm:

Also interesting to note, in the ad and the list you show, they're all called "The ____" (The Fireman, The Father, etc..). My mug simply says "Father" I wonder when the change was made.....

Hmm, not sure what you're going to think about this but here I go :rotflol:
Schick Quattro Energy

It's pretty and fits nicely in the hand... the shave? well, I guess it's ok. I have used it only twice and the results have been just ok :P haha

For those of you who know my love of the Roger & Gallet L'Homme shave soap and eau de toilette, look what came in the mail today. Unfortunately, I also have a :soapbox: about the company who sold this to me. It's posted in the War Zone topics here: .

July was a great month! I picked up a puck of Mitchell's Wool Fat soap in the ceramic dish, 3 pucks of Prairie Creations soap (unscented, baby powder, and lime), a Joris open comb, a 1964 Gillette Aristocrat (on its way from Germany...thanks Michael) and a Georgetown G5 scuttle that just arrived this morning.

These arrived today from EW (omegapd)! They'll get their first try tomorrow. I'm especially curious to see how the Gillette Thermal Face Scrub stands up to The Real Shaving Co.'s Hot Face Mask. :spin:

Well this week I took delivery of the D2, Arko regular shave cream, a Valobra stick, and some Super Iridiums

Phil tossed in a blade bank and a sample of Ogallala Limes and Peppercorns, I was almost more excited about the Ogallala than what I ordered. :rotflol:
