Well, it is time to shift over to my spring/summer shave soaps. So, I took out my Productos LEA triple milled shave soap (new no -tallow formula) and decided to relegate its use to a bath/sink soap. It lathers like crazy and doesn't leave a mess behind, but it never had much cushion or did much to soften my beard.

The old tallow version was great.

Agree with your scent description, also decent detergent qualities even on oily skin.

Violetta (Nesti Dante) Dei colli Fiorentini

My bar of this violet soap is very lightly scented. I can hardly pick up even a slight floral smell. The smell of sweet violets is made up of ionones, which interact with your brain's smell detectors in an odd way. After ionones trigger your detectors for a few seconds, they desensitize them so the smell seems to go away. A few minutes later the desensitizing wears off, and you can smell the flowers again. This produces a bizarre strobe-light effect that some people find fascinating, while others just think it's bothersome.
