Received my Tradere OC yesterday and it has to be one of the BEST looking razors I have ever seen and I couldn’t wait to try it out this morning. I loaded it up with a brand new Perma Sharp Super blade (one of my favorites) and took it for a test drive.

To me, the razor was smooth with very little blade feel at every angle I tried. I had no irritation from the razor/blade combination but it also didn’t feel very efficient.
My normal shave routine is a pass with the grain and then across the grain in both directions but never against the grain. After completing my normal 3 pass routine, I still had some stubble on my problem areas around my jaw line (this was not normal) so I switched to a new Feather blade and competed the routine again using multiple angles to try to narrow down the proper angle for me. Still no irritation after my second 3 pass routine but I ended my shave with one beautiful pass with the grain from my Vector due to some stubble spots remaining.

I will continue to shave with this one in an attempt to narrow down my user error problems but if anyone has any suggestions, I am all ears!

I have had more than one razor that I had to shave with a number of times to figure it out. For instance, the Charcoal Goods Lv 2 SB. I just couldn't get a good two pass (my limit) shave out of it ... until I could. Now it is a razor I like and use in my rotation.

I had an original Tradere OC from the first issue. I found it efficient. I'm assuming Shane didn't change the geometry, blade gap ? Dunno, but keep trying and please keep us posted on progress.

Shane, I couldn’t be happier, THANK YOU Sir!

Gold Standard Packing and Presentation. Razor is Everything I knew it would be! I’m blown away by the handle, it’s brilliant!

Customer Service answering my questions whilst out of the country: Again, Gold Standard!

My appreciation through my first SOTD post in 2 months:

From the pictures, it looks well built & beautiful; But  is it efficient enough?? I’m looking for more efficiency @the level of the DB 2020 or CG Lvl2. Thanks

First Opinions, Level 2 CG, I mostly use dual combs enjoying the OC on first pass.  I went with the SB here first and I like it. I’ll use it again later this week.  I see an OC addition in my future.   Full disclosure, I’m kinda fair and a 2 pass max kinda guy shaving 2x a week sometimes 3 if a special occasion arises.

If I had to compare it to another high end razor, IMO, this “feels” to me like a Wolfie .68-.74 SB, like FLCreekIndian, I go across grain on 2nd pass, I never have a 3rd. I will use a Feather at the end of the week. I did NOT speed shave with this one as blade feel is there like my Carbon, but not overwhelming.  My best shaves come from .61-.74.....this was right in there, skin feels nice, Zero irritation.

Any dirt, dust or debris you see is from me being a maniac opening the packaging and putting 4 different blades in it and trying to BBQ at the same time!

A little too classy for me, but man, this is probably within the top three of prettiest razors.

I contacted Shane after my less than stellar first shave and he basically told me there is no secret to using the Tradere and suggested I change blades again and give it another shot. I decided to load up the razor with the supplied Personna blade. I didn’t have as much stubble as I did yesterday when I began the shave but switching the blade made a huge difference.

The shave was just as smooth as it was yesterday but was more efficient. It was so smooth, I decided to add an ATG pass which is something I almost never do. The ATG pass was just as smooth as the other passes and now I am rocking an amazing BBS shave with ZERO irritation.

I am a daily shaver (M-F) due to work and my facial hair grows very fast. If I work an off duty job in the evenings, I have to shave again before going back to work. My plan is to get a couple of days growth going and run her again!
