Your right 100% but Timeless Shaving bowl for price and value can't beat it, but Copper Captains Choice is amazing Shaving Bowl I use it all the time  Happy2

should I worry about scratches on the bottom?

I have my eye on the Aquamarine heavy weight copper bowl... what a beautiful work of art.

I have used Badger, Boar and synthetic brushes and have seen no damage to any.
