"and I always make my last pass still painting going in the exact opposite direction of the pass I'm going to be doing which to me assures me that I've made my hairs stand up as much as possible."

I honestly never thought of how I was painting the soap on ... I'm pretty sure I almost always end painting down (wtg) at the end. This makes total sense. I am so trying this tonight. Thanks Dragonsbeard !

Let me know how it works for you my friend! I’ve been doing that for years now. I guess it just made sense to me.. Although I do tend to overthink things lol

Saw a video  with the guy doing that so I've tried it too. I'll concentrate on that WTG pass too, nice tip. Yep makes sense.
Maybe I shouldn't use this wire brush though, lol. Joking!

Well I got my new razor (MJ90A) and gave it a try. Its hard to gauge because I used a new (to me) razor. I felt like it was good, and certainly didn't cause any issues. I'll have to try it with a razor I've used before next.

ETHOS the best, eh? Had a great shave with Agrumes on Tuesday. Scent, cushion and postshave were incredible!

Maiden shave with the Lavender Suprême and color me impressed. The lather starts out extremely sticky and the temptation is to flood it with water. I resisted.
However, while I do prefer a wetter lather, especially for my straight shaves, I could have slowed the water adding even more. The lather tends to "break" and while I didn't cross that threshold, I can see it happening.
The lavender scent is wonderful, reminding me of AoS Lavender Cream (a compliment, BTW). It isn't as "weighty" as Mike's Hungarian Lavender and much more refined and pure than Fine or Barrister and Mann. Thumbs up. The post-shave is upper echelon and the skin food really enhances the already-hydrated feeling. Excellent customer service from Frank and I have already put in a request for the Succès set.
I have had a TON of soaps in and out of my den, and while I normally gravitate towards vintage products, the ETHOS line is a wonderful example of artisan "know-how".

Rocnel-adjustable-sailor is a really great razor.  Careful, after using it, you may want to sell all the other razors.  I have a 2019 model and I am looking forward to trying the 2020 model.

Well if you want to email me I can help you out. I'm at ethosgroomingessentials@gmail.com

Yeah I had the 2017 Sailor but that was not as good as my Vintage Gibbs so I sold it but the release of the 2019 kind of sparked my interest as I read reviews and I hear the 2020 is just as efficient but smoother. I'm going to take it for a spin for tonights shave.

What did you think of the 2019 Sailor Frank?
