Mug vs bowl. What is your preference. I have used a mug and soap puck but thinking of trying cream and bowl.

Face lathering with a warm badger brush.
Less dishes to wash.

I have a mug I load from (with Old spice in it), but I either bowl or face lather... Depending on how I feel at the time. Mostly face lathering.

For me, a mug is too small for proper lather building. I don't like to clank my brush on the sides, and I cannot seem to get the rhythm right.

Same. I have about 6 bowls going at any one time with various experiments or batch test samples. Quality control.

Those are very nice looking. Love the fact that it has a built in brush stand, too.

I use my ugly mug mostly but occasionally I’ll bowl lather. (See what I did there?)

Yeah, I had been using a Fine lathering  bowl but I was looking for something deeper that still had a brush holder, because I was unwilling to give that up.  I also wanted something that wouldn’t shatter if it hit the floor.

The Pereira was perfect: Deep and wide for lathering without throwing suds out of the bowl. Good texture on the bottom and sides for creating the lather. Unbreakable, within reason. And the brush holder is more secure than the one on the fine.  There are 3 colors to choose from and the price is very reasonable.

After a few shaves with the Pereira I gave my Fine bowl, along with some other gear, to a friend to get him started. The Fine lathering bowl is nice, but I much prefer the Pereira.

Captain’s Choice bowl. Actually, they are on sale right now for a very attractive price.
