Each nose is different but I get mostly a Fresh Green scent. It's VERY nice but wanted a little smokiness which the TF Grey Vetiver added. I'm not saying the Vétivert should be made more smokey. It stands on it's own and is great in my book as a green Vetiver than many love. I just like smokey too. Hope that helped some as I'm not the best on scent descriptions. Also, while it was lightly scented on sniffing the tub, it really opened up on lathering to a nice scent strength for me.

That's exactly what I wanted to hear, Dave. Thank you so much.  Smile

You're welcome. My apologies to your wallet. If you get it, let me know how it is for you !

Optometrist I would generally agree with Dave in KY on the scent. I am not a deep expert on the universe of vetivers but I do enjoy the overall scent profile, with a bias to more green notes. This is my first experience with Frank's interpretation, and I get something that is more of a pure clean green note in the soap, and less emphasis on cologne. The skin splash echoes much of that although there is something else in the background I can't quite identify. My brain keeps wanting to insert a soft rounded buttery note, but I think it is more of a slight earthy or even wheat like tone. As you might expect from Frank, the scent is very pleasant.

I think the largest consideration could be how important scent strength is to you. To my nose Vetivert presented very light in scent off the jar and the splash bottle. I did get more of the scent experience once lathered but it is still relatively low. The splash is similar for me. However, I think this can be perceptually deceptive because of the purity of the scent and it is already an inherently light tone to begin with. After several shaves with Vetivert, I can see a secondary use as an alternative to the pure line, maybe pure +, as it could easily mix with other splashes while providing a nice little hint of vetiver and all the wonderful skin beneficials.

Thank you for your thoughts. Personally, I prefer mild scents. I have Rosa F Base and from the container I'd put scent around a 3. It opens up to around a 4.5/5 on lathering which is my ideal.

I hope you don't mind me chiming in. To my nose, this soap smells very similar to the Creed's Original Vetiver.

Blackberry Blossom Bay sounds incredibly intriguing. I’ve never seen or heard of that one. I did a quick search and it goes back to 2017.

I had a sample of the soap one time and yes it goes back a ways in Wet Shaving history.

That toner is one of the original run that Shawn Maher of Chatillon Lux did. He only did it in aftershave and toner because he didn’t make soap. The soap came later in collaboration with L&L Grooming (later Declaration Grooming). There was a second run of Blackberry Blossom Bay post shave by Chatillon Lux but there was never another release of it in soap until Declaration Grooming’s B Cubed (BBB get it?) a couple of years ago.
